I don't know about you, but I love getting a glimpse of the products celebrities use in their day-to-day lives — and when it turns out that some of them are attainable for normies like me? Even better! That's why, as someone who writes about kitchen products for a living, I was intrigued when I learned that Cameron Diaz is a fan of this sleek Epicurean Kitchen Series Cutting Board, which retails for a reasonable $27 at Amazon.
The busy mom of two, who's been posting a series of recipe videos dubbed "Cooking with Cameron" to social media, shared with The Strategist: "I have a couple of these in black. They’re made from wood pulp, so they’re eco-friendly and super-durable." I've been looking to cut down on the amount of plastic I buy, so this is in my cart as we speak!
With its 6-quart capacity, this gorgeous air fryer can hold enough food for five to seven people, yet its small footprint won't take up too much space on your counter. Its patent-pending TurboCrisp technology helps ensure quick, even cooking with that crunch factor we all crave (though you'll be able to cook with as much as 75% less fat than deep-frying). The user-friendly touchscreen lights up while in use and features time and temperature settings (from 90-400 degrees Fahrenheit), as well as four functions: Air Fry, Roast, Reheat and Dehydrate, the latter of which is a cool feature that isn't always included with air fryers.
I've been trying to eliminate plastic from my kitchen, and my old plastic cutting boards were among the first things to go. While I do love a thick wooden Boos Block, this slender board has become my favorite. (Surprisingly, it was Cameron Diaz who first made me aware of it, and let's just say she knows a good cutting board when she sees one.)
It's made of a paper composite material, which means it's nonporous and dries quickly. Plus, it's just as lightweight as plastic — if not more so — and superthin so as not to take up much space. I slide it through a small space above my fridge, and that's where it lives, virtually invisible. Bonus: It's so attractive that I use it as a cheese board too.
She went on to say, "If I’m making a charcuterie-and-cheese plate, I can cut and serve the cheese on this board. They’re super-lightweight, unlike those heavy, solid-wood boards. I keep multiples in a drawer without having to worry about the weight." Lightweight is right — the 11.5" x 9" board weighs just five grams! And at a quarter-inch thick, it'll hardly take up any space, either.
The Epicurean Kitchen Series Cutting Board is made of a Richlite paper composite material, which means it's non-porous — something else Diaz appreciates. "They’re less absorbent than solid-wood boards, so they dry very quickly when I wipe them down after washing. This is great because moisture between boards freaks me out. I always let mine dry out completely before I ever let them touch each other or go inside a drawer."
Its non-porous nature also means it's less likely to absorb unpleasant odors, and since it can withstand heat up to 350°F, it's ideal for using as a trivet. These boards are NSF (National Sanitation Foundation)-certified for safety, and, conveniently, can be cleaned in the dishwasher!
Cameron's got company — over 3,000 Amazon customers have given the Epicurean Kitchen Series Cutting Board a perfect five-star rating.
"Honestly, the best cutting board for me," raved one impressed shopper. "It's thin and lays super flat and [it's] lightweight. I do not like plastic and I think the standard wooden ones are too cumbersome, don't sit right and just are not my jam. Too high-maintenance. This does not leave marks. And I LOVE the aesthetics. ... Everyone wants to know where I got [it]."
"My good knives were not holding their edge until I threw out the plastic and bamboo cutting boards and started using Epicurean boards exclusively," shared another happy buyer. "It's made such a big difference in how often I need to hone or sharpen my knives."
"So far, after a few weeks of use, we're seeing no marks on the board whatsoever," wrote a final fan. "Very easy to clean, seems to hold up very well, I have a feeling this one will stick around for a while. Only downside to this particular model is no rubber grips, but honestly we haven't had any issues with sliding yet, even on our granite tops."
Another kitchen fave of Cameron's? Her pal Drew Barrymore's Beautiful Air Fryer.
