Of course, this model is gorgeous to begin with, but check out that even, glowy, natural finish on the right. (Sephora)(Dr. Jart+)
First, a confession: I'm hardly a beauty buff. I've always kept my makeup simple, and when I walk into a place like Sephora or Ulta, I start to sweat a little. There are just so many products, to say nothing of the retinol-obsessed tweens who probably have very strong opinions about my skin-care regimen. The flashy labels, the lofty claims, the flowery smells, the high prices ... it's all too much.
That said, like most of us, I still want that elusive "I woke up like this" glow. So after years spent cycling through various drugstore foundations and creams, I splurged on what has become the linchpin of my routine: Dr. Jart+ Premium BB Tinted Moisturizer.
"I hate wearing makeup," admitted this fan. "I can feel it smothering me, but I'm getting older and my complexion is needing some help. This stuff is amazing! Great coverage, does not sink into fine lines, and I can wear it all day!"
This color corrector is ideal for anyone who deals with redness (just watch it do its thing in this TikTok video) and like many Dr. Jart products, it's sunscreen as well — in this case, SPF 30.
"As someone with extremely sensitive, rosacea-prone skin, this product protects my skin, absorbs quickly and reduces redness, resulting in a nice natural even skin tone," this fan raved. "My rosacea has also calmed down significantly since using this product. I couldn't be happier."
The secret sauce in this moisturizer? Panthenol, a humectant that helps keep skin cells nice and hydrated, and five dryness-preventing ceramides.
"I get really dry facial skin in the colder months, and regular moisturizer never seems to be enough," said this shopper. "This product is a moisture barrier, so a little bit seals in moisture in your skin and immediately gets rid of dry flakes. Since I’m in my mid-40s, putting cosmetics on top of dry, flaky skin isn’t exactly a desirable look. This product changed my winter skin regime the moment I tried it. I can’t live without it! A little bit goes a long, long way, so it’s worth the expense!"

This packaging once stopped me in my tracks in a busy Sephora (well done, Dr. Jart). The cooling rubber mask seals in a hyaluronic acid serum to leave your skin soft and supple. (It does not, to my knowledge, leave you looking like a member of Blue Man Group.)
"Very moisturizing," wrote a reviewer. "I have eczema and I didn't need to use my regular moisturizers afterward because it was that moisturizing. It's also nonscented, so that's good as well."
I have to give credit where credit's due: My mom recommended that I try Dr. Jart, a South Korean beauty brand that focuses on skin care. You'd never guess she's in her late 60s — in fact, for as long as I can remember, she's always looked about 10-15 years younger than she is. She shares my keep-it-simple-stupid outlook on all things beauty, and she definitely passed down her healthy skepticism about products with a heftier price tag. So I knew that if this $48 moisturizer had her stamp of approval, it had to be good.
And oh, dear reader, it is good. (Thanks, Mom!) It provides just enough coverage, evening out my skin tone and blurring imperfections without making me feel like I'm caked in something goopy. Plus, it leaves just enough of a glow that I feel like I've shaved off a few years with a few swipes of my makeup sponge, and it's buildable on those rare occasions that I do want a more polished, "done" look.
Frankly, all that would be enough for me, but this fuss-free find is also packed with niacinamide, which keeps my skin quenched — so important as I trade oiliness and blemishes for dryness and fine lines. Glycerin, another hydration booster, is in the mix too. It's even SPF 40, saving my lazy self from slathering on sunscreen (or, more likely, feeling guilty that I didn't).
Plenty of shoppers are keeping their appointments with Dr. Jart too.
"I've tried BB tinted moisturizers from major cosmetic companies in various price ranges and this one blows them all out of the water!" said this Amazon buyer. "I have mature combination olive skin with scattered melasma on my cheeks. I don't like or use heavy makeup so I've used a concealer under BB tinted moisturizers to camouflage the light melasma. That's not necessary with this product. Coverage is excellent and natural-looking. I chose the light medium, and it's a perfect match and blends flawlessly."
A Sephora reviewer was similarly thrilled: "Since using this, I've never gotten more compliments in my life." (Writer's note: Same!) "Your skin literally glows after applying. I usually dab some powder once dry to avoid shine in the T-zone. Application is very easy. You only need a little bit to cover the full face. Hides dark circles better than any concealer I've ever bought. I use this as both a foundation and concealer now. I have rosacea and very sensitive skin and have had zero issues."
"The way this product dries down is amazing," wrote another Sephora shopper. "Feels like you have nothing on, and doesn't dry down sticky, oily or gross. It's got a very nice finish to it. I wouldn't say it's the most glowy finish on its own [but] that's something you can easily correct by putting something on underneath this product." (I agree — and if I do want to amp up the glow, I layer this on over L'Oreal's inexpensive Lumi Glotion, which is a favorite of Yahoo staffers and Martha Stewart alike.)
Of course, after falling head over heels for the brand's tinted moisturizer, now I'm eyeballing some other Dr. Jart products, including the fan favorites below.
