Bethenny Frankel knows beauty, and she loves sharing info about her favorite products, many of which can be found at the local drugstore. Speaking with People in 2022, the Real Housewives of New York City star revealed some of her best low-cost beauty buys. One we can't stop thinking about involves Palmer's Coconut Hydrate Body Oil. Frankel recommends mixing in a favorite fragrance to turn it into a custom-scented (and cost-saving) beauty hack. Right now, Palmer's is a mere $8 (down from $10) at Amazon.
This warm, lightweight fleece is the versatile garment you'll be reaching for all winter: Use it as an extra layer under your puffer coat or pair it with some leggings on milder days when you take the dog out for a walk. Not too bulky, it's soft, stylish and boasts features like zippered side pockets, a collared neck and an adjustable drawstring hem. We haven't seen it on sale for less in months, and we don't expect it to dip in price anytime soon.
"I absolutely love this full-zip jacket," raved a shopper. "It's incredibly soft and warm, making it perfect for chilly weather. The fit is just right — not too tight but not too loose — and it's super comfortable to wear all day. I also love the stylish design and how versatile it is. Whether I’m running errands or going for a walk, it's the perfect layer to throw on. The quality is top-notch, and I can tell it will last for years."
These sneakers are just what the doctor (or a suitably accredited medical professional) ordered. We're talking about nurses, who routinely work extra long shifts and barely get to sit down. They love to brag about how Cloudfoams have saved their feet. You can walk ... and walk and walk. The Adidas Cloudfoam Pure Running Shoe will provide the support you need to keep up — even if you’re covering a lot of ground.
They're a favorite among restaurant servers, too. They’re punishing their feet all night long, and these sneaks are a much-needed relief. They’re cute and when you're working overtime, they support your feet with memory foam cushioning. And when things get messy, their textile upper wipes clean easily, making them even more practical.
Skin feeling a bit parched thanks to the dry winter air? This No. 1 bestselling steamer is here to save the day. Think of it as your personal, in-home facial device: It essentially acts as a humidifier by releasing nano-ionic steam to help with hydration, and comes with tools for removing blackheads and unclogging pores once your vaporizing session is complete. It can also be used as a towel warmer — the ultimate luxury — and at over 40% off, it's down to as low as it's been all year.
"Sinus miracle worker and pore-opener," raved a shopper. "I love this steamer! Straight out of the box, it is very easy to use. ... The steamer heats up very quickly and emits efficiently, which has helped my sinus issues greatly. I will also use it before I apply my facial mask. I like the versatility of the steamer, with its different settings for face steamer, towel steamer and humidifier. The product seems to be of good quality and durable."
Why have a bunch of weights lying around your house when you can get everything you need out of this adjustable one? It can replace six kettlebells — just turn the dial to set it between 8 and 40 pounds. It's down to its lowest price in months!
This serum contains a high concentration of Vitamin C along with tripeptides and green tea extract to help restore skin to its youthful, glowy best. It has quite a few fans too, including Bethenny Frankel, who's raved about it on social media a few times.
"I don't drink my orange juice, but I put vitamin C serum on every day," she said. "It's great for year-round daytime [wear], a facialist told me that ... [it's] hydrating, plumping, brightening."
This versatile oil is formulated to moisturize skin for up to two days — not too shabby for $8.
As Frankel explains, "You're paying for the scent when it comes to those expensive body oils, so do it yourself and you'll save a ton." Indeed, popular scented body oils can cost $65 or more. Why spend so much when you can get the same effect for a tenth of the cost? "Just add a few spritzes of your favorite fragrance to your hands and mix with Palmer's," she says. Use cologne, perfume or essential oils — just a couple of drops are all you need.
Think about it: You can customize your Palmer's with a different scent every time you use it, rather than shelling out big bucks for just one scent. And an $8 bottle of Palmer's will last you quite a while.
Aside from Bethenny's fragrance hack, Palmer's oil has plenty of skin-pampering properties, fans say. This blend, which includes Tahitian monoi oil, rejuvenates and replenishes the skin's moisture and radiance. It's also formulated to absorb into the skin without the greasy mess of some body oils. And, of course, it has a light, sweet coconut fragrance of its own. Apply it after showering for maximum hydration or anytime your skin needs a boost.
Over 9,800 Amazon reviewers have given Palmer's Coconut Hydrate Body Oil a five-star rating, with many raving about its "luxurious" feel.
"I love all Palmer's coconut products! But this is my absolute favorite!" said a happy customer. "I use it right out of the shower while still wet. It absorbs beautifully. Not oily, feels amazing! Keeps my skin moisturized all day! Please never discontinue this — I never wanna be without it."
Another shopper said, "For the last couple of years, the skin on my legs has been very dry. It was ashy, almost papery and had developed ingrown hairs. Any lotion or cream I used was not being absorbed or helping in any significant way. I've used this oil a few times so far on my damp legs right out of the shower, and my legs are getting better each time. They already look and feel so much better."
"It is light, has a mild, sweet fragrance and leaves my skin glowing," raved a third. "I also tried it on my legs after shaving. Wow wow wow! Usually, my legs start itching and I have horrible dry skin in the winter, but not with Palmer's! I actually enjoy shaving my legs because I won't be itchy, just silky smooth skin that smells like coconut."
Some fans say the bottle could be better. "The oil itself is luxurious, absorbing beautifully into my skin and leaving it feeling incredibly soft and hydrated, without any greasy residue," reported a generally satisfied user. "The only drawback I've noticed is the pour cap, which tends to leak a bit, so I have to be careful when using it."
"Please note, the dispenser doesn't spray a mist onto the area like you would think," wrote a final fan. "It just squirts a little stream. ... It helps to stand on a towel to catch any drips that sometimes happen." That said, they added, "My favorite time to use is immediately after shaving when my skin is still damp. I'm sure some rubs off on my clothing, but there is no staining or oily spots. I absolutely love this moisturizer."
