Score soot-sucker-uppers, swimsuits and summer essentials on super sale. (Amazon/Kohl's)(Amazon/Kohl's)
Searching for deals all day is a tough job, but someone's gotta do it (me). Sure, I know shopping for a living sounds fun, and it is. But, if I can be candid for a second, there are a lot of sneaky non-deals out there masquerading as legit discounts. I'm talking tactics like inflated starting prices that make markdowns seem more impressive and "sale prices" that never seem to change for months on end. With that in mind, I have to be extra selective when it comes to choosing the deals I share with you, our respected readers. And while my list of today's best sales is a humble 11 items long, you can rest assured that each find is a "real" deal, from an editor-approved Dyson stick vacuum ($120 off) to Apple AirTags (a four-pack recently dipped to $75). Happy saving!
Our director of commerce initiatives, Jeanine Edwards, spied this cheery find, which comes from Reese Witherspoon's Draper James collection for Kohl's. "Don't have any butter yellow in your closet? You've gotta change that," she says. "If adding the hue to your everyday wardrobe feels too risky, how about this feminine one-piece that offers full coverage and has fun, frilly straps? Kohl's knocked $12 off the price ahead of beach and pool season. If yellow is still a bridge too far, there are three other colors in sizes S-XXL."
The days of stuffing things into your suitcase until it's ready to burst are over, thanks to these clever containers. They'll keep your clothes from becoming a chaotic mess, since you'll be able to dedicate one to pants, one to shirts and so on, and they'll also save space by compressing your belongings into smaller packs.
Included are four cubes in varying sizes, along with a bag each for cosmetics, shoes and socks and a drawstring bag for miscellaneous items — all for the lowest price to date at 42% off.
Been dyin' to try a Dyson? Not all deals from this splurge-tastic brand get my attention, but this 36% markdown — a near-all-time low — sure did. This highly rated model is down to its best price in months and features a Max cleaning mode to spot-treat areas that need more attention. Got pets? The included hair-screw tool sucks up fur without getting tangled.
Yahoo Home & Garden Writer Kristin Granero tested this vac, saying it's "among Dyson's more compact and budget-conscious Dyson models ... The vacuum maneuvers effortlessly over and around rugs and hardwood floors, and the hair screw tool worked miracles when it came to tight corners and detailing pet-loved couch interiors. ... We suggest it for smaller spaces with hardwood floors or shallow carpets and quicker jobs."
A good crossbody bag is a must in my book, and this popular Coach Outlet gem can be yours for a whole lot less at the moment. It's that just-right size for stashing your phone, wallet, keys and a compact. I'm eyeing this dark stone color that's great for fall, but there are 15 other hues on sale too.
Sprinklers are fun, but what kids (and kids at heart) really want is a pool. This one's suitable for splashing around on the deck, but it doubles as a float for a larger pool or lake. A built-in cupholder and headrest add to the luxury, and the thick PVC material helps prevent punctures and leaks.
If you've got an electric pump, it'll inflate in no time — and this is as low as I've ever seen it.
If it's clean, speedy cooking you're after, listen up: this model came out on top among the propane options Granero evaluated.
"Weber's Spirit II is a compact, no-frills gas grill that gets the job done — and then some," she says. "Two stainless steel burners allow you to customize the heat for two different zones. There's a built-in lid thermometer for gauging temperatures and two side trays — one of them collapsible — for streamlined prep."
She notes that it's "large enough to cook enough food for a crowd (about 12 to 16 burgers at one time), while remaining trim for smaller decks and patios. It also has two wheels, which I've found helpful for transporting."
Is it an inexpensive grill? No, but this deal does drop the price by 100 bucks. Plus, as Granero notes, "Weber offers a 10-year warranty for added assurance."
Waffles belong in the bathroom just as much as they belong in the kitchen; after all, that textured style has a way of making things — like this bath mat — feel oh-so-fancy.
Sure, it looks like it came from a splurge-y boutique, but the waffle weaving is also absorbent and feels like a treat for your feet. Plus, this lightning deal brings the price to an all-time low.
