Paring knives are more fun to use when they're colorful — that's just science. (Amazon)(Amazon)
Ask any chef what the most important tool in their arsenal is, and nine times out of 10 they'll say a good knife. But even those of us who cook for pleasure or out of necessity will want to make sure the blades we're slicing and dicing with are sharp and durable enough to last many years — because who wants to keep buying new knives all the time? Of course, larger chef's knives usually hog the spotlight, but when was the last time you thought about the state of your paring knives? After all, they're the ones that handle those everyday tasks like peeling vegetables and slicing fruit.
If you're realizing the ones in your drawer could probably use an upgrade, we spoke to professional chefs who agreed that the Victorinox Swiss Classic Multicolored 3-Piece Paring Knife Set is the way to go. And not only that, it's on sale at Amazon for — wait for it — just $19.

It might resemble an electric toothbrush, but you'll want to use this little gizmo for busting away messes in the tiny corners and crevices of your home. We're taking bathroom tile grout, fridge gaskets, around faucets — anything you don't feel like cleaning by hand, since it scrubs a whopping 60 times per second! We don't often see it on sale for less than it is now, but we have seen it priced at over $20. And given how much time and energy it'll save you, $17 is a real bargain!
"The Rubbermaid Power Scrubber is amazing!" exclaimed an impressed user. "Not only does it get the water stains out of the tile grout, but it’s small enough to get into the crevices of the shower door and side panels. Black gunk I had never even seen was streaming down, with very little effort from me. Best of all, no pain in my hands from my carpal tunnel syndrome." (Psst: I'm also a fan — check out my full Rubbermaid Reveal Power Scrubber review!)
"The K2 has saved me so much hassle and added hours back into my week," says our resident vacuum expert, Home & Garden Writer Kristin Granero. "Having a vacuum that can clean under my feet while I'm working from home or napping on my couch is a non-negotiable for me. The Okp K2 has proven to be quiet enough to get the job done without rousing me from sleep and without letting my boss know that Rosie the Robot is cleaning around me during video chats.
"Despite being so quiet, it packs 1800Pa of power and a HEPA filter for effectively picking up human and pet hair, dirt and debris (bonus: improved air quality). It's also incredibly versatile, designed for hardwood floors and rugs, with four different settings for added customization. The ability to detail edges or spot-treat is especially helpful when I'm in a rush or an area requires extra attention."

There's a reason this cooling sheet set is a No. 1 bestseller — several reasons, in fact. For starters, it's made of brushed microfiber that feels much softer than its affordable price tag would suggest, and the moisture-wicking material will help you stay dry while you snooze. Add to that the fact that these sheets are pill-, wrinkle- and fade-resistant? No wonder sleepers are comparing them to high-end bedding brands like Brooklinen.

If your goal is to make cleaning your floors (and more) easier, take note: this Shark vacuum is on sale for $100 at Amazon. Clean hardwood floors, low-pile rugs, stairs, sofas, mattresses, even the inside of your car with cordless convenience. Two cyclonic air streams are designed to offer great suction that picks up big crumbs, fine dust and everything in between. It's super-lightweight (the handheld is only 2.8 pounds) and it has an extra-large dust cup that's easy to eject and empty with the touch of a button, fans say. It comes with a floor nozzle, scrubbing brush and crevice tool, plus there's a docking station that keeps everything charged up and in place when you aren't using it.
"Shark vacuums never disappoint us," wrote one loyal fan. "This particular item is amazing. It weighs so little, yet it is so powerful. It's great for fabric surfaces [like the] top of your bed, rugs, runners, but especially hardwood and tile. You cannot go wrong for the price."
These wildly popular containers are clearly doing something right if tens of thousands of shoppers have given them a perfect five-star rating. In addition to helping cut down on food waste, these bins allow you to group your food products and beverages by category for a more cohesive, easy-to-navigate fridge.
Juice boxes, veggies, fruits, sauces, dressings — each can have their own designated space. Plus, if something happens to spill, it'll be contained in the bin, which is much easier to clean than an entire sticky fridge shelf. This is close to the lowest price we've seen, so grab a few sets for your pantry and under your sinks too.
Using a filtered pitcher can help prevent you from drinking water that's laden with impurities. This popular BPA-free Brita reduces copper, cadmium and mercury levels for better-tasting H2O, in addition to minimizing the taste and odor from chorine. Its 6-cup capacity is on the smaller size, meaning it won't take up much room in your fridge, and it'll alert you when it's time to swap out the filter. At nearly 40% off, this is as good a price as we've seen.
"This water filter pitcher is perfect for my family of four," wrote a shopper. "It has saved us money because we no longer have to buy as many bottled waters. I was literally buying four cases of 48 bottles of water every two weeks, and now I'm only buying two cases. This is a must-have. It is easy to clean and the filter lasts two months. The flow rate is smooth. This pitcher fits perfectly in our refrigerator."
Never strain your wrists opening a can again, thanks to this nifty little device that does the job with the push of a button. The No. 1 bestseller cleanly removes the top without leaving any sharp edges behind, and it's battery-operated so you won't have to deal with cords.

Our price trackers tell us this is just about as low as this set has been on sale for this year (it briefly dipped down to $18, a dollar less). At under $7 per knife, you won't find much better than this for a respected brand with pro-chef cred.
Yahoo's home editor, Kristin Granero, spoke with chefs about what they considered the best knives and knife sets on the market. Two of them — Rick Mace, owner and executive chef of Tropical Smokehouse in West Palm Beach, Fla. and Michelin-star chef Silvio Salmoiraghi of Ambrogio by Acquerello in La Jolla, Calif., and Acquerello in Milan, Italy — agreed that the Victorinox set featured the best paring knives.
Mace, who has used the 3-inch serrated paring knives "for as long as he can remember," says, "The serrated paring knife shines when cutting tomatoes and soft fruits, when a slightly dull knife would struggle to make precise cuts, and the thin blade makes easy work of root vegetables like beets and potatoes."
The set includes a wavy-edge paring knife for slicing bagels, breads and softer produce without squishing them down, a straight-edge paring knife for peeling, chopping and mincing, as well as a dedicated tomato knife — because we all know how difficult it is to slice those slippery suckers! Each one has a different colored handle, making it quick and easy to identify which one you're reaching for, and they feature ergonomic, nonslip grips for more confident cutting.
Victorinox has been crafting stainless steel knives in Switzerland for over a century, so you can trust that they know a thing or two about what makes a quality blade. Speaking of quality, cleaning knives by hand helps keep them in good shape, but this set is technically dishwasher-safe.
Pro chefs aren't the only ones who approve of this trio — these knives have set over 3,500 Amazon customers' hearts a-blade. Maybe you'll join the 1,000-plus who have purchased them in the past month.
"I’ve had Victorinox knives for 30 years and haven’t found anything better for everyday use!" exclaimed one loyal fan. "Serrated are my favorite and can be used for everything, even my old ones slice well. [I] use [these] for citrus, tomatoes, vegetables, fruit ... even meat!"
"Great knives," agreed another user. "If you want knives for cutting veggies and fruit without squishing them, especially tomatoes, these are the knives for you."
"Super sharp, thin and practical," wrote a third. "These make me wish I hadn't spent hundreds of dollars on specialty knives over the years. These cut better than any of those high-dollar blades for a fraction of the price."
Several buyers shared this note: "I just wish they came with covers for the blades," wrote an otherwise satisfied shopper. "I would have gladly paid more for that feature." That said, they added, "These are sharp, but not too dangerous if you are careful. I love the variety."
"The only thing I kind of dislike is that the handles on the two smaller knives are a little shorter than I like," shared a final reviewer. "I’m also used to paring knives with slightly longer blades. I expect I’ll get used to these differences. The quality seems very high..."
And to keep your precious little fingies safe while you slice ...
