Breathe easy: Air purifiers are up to 60% off for Prime Day! (Photos: Amazon)
Inhale the positivity of Prime Day. Exhale the negativity of paying full price.
Air purifiers are marked way down for the mammoth Amazon shopping event, and this year, savings are even better than usual. Why? Because the retail industry has a glut of merchandise. And when stores want to move product, they drop prices.
With deals of up to 60% off, air purifiers are a top category for savings. So set yourself up for cleaner indoor air, fewer lingering cooking smells and better sleep, with one (or three!) of these top-rated options. Don't be afraid to mix and match!

"A great air purifier!" writes one of 3,900 five-star reviewers. "Wi-Fi is solid if you have great connection...Alexa voice command works fine, but limited to Power and Fan Speed. You can’t ask Alexa for air quality status or what current unit mode is. App works great. Will notify you if air quality changes. You can control the unit with the app, check filter status, and also set schedules if you want. Level 1 is practically silent. Level 2 is louder, but doesn’t interfere with being able to hear things. Level 3 is pretty loud. Sensor works fine. If it detects unhealthy air (cooking, candles, pets) it kicks up to Level 3 right away and gradually goes down as air improves. You can adjust sensor sensitivity through the app."
"Best. Air purifier. Ever," declared a happy reviewer. "Seriously. I am allergic to grass, most trees, dust, and a certain strain of common mold. I have tried a number of air purifiers over the years to battle this. The Honeywell HPA series is the best of these by far. I have [5 models]. They all run 24/7 keeping me alive and well. Seriously, these are the best...The light can be turned dim or all the way off. This is surprisingly a very nice touch as we use them as pseudo-nightlights in the kids' rooms and turn the light off in our bedroom...Make sure to go for the model that sucks in the front and blows out the top as you only have to account for one side on the horizontal. This is MUCH easier to work with in any room."
"I just changed the filter after 4,400 hours of continuous use," writes an impressed shopper. "We have Newfoundland dogs and two boys under 10 that constantly bring in dirt from outside. We have this running 24/7 in our living room, right under our TV. It is quiet and effective...It is super sensitive. We have it near a window where on the outside porch people sometimes smoke...It will detest the smoke and drop the air quality from100% to about 35%, then work to get back to 100%...I think we need another one for upstairs. Super happy with it this Shark."
"Marriage/pet saver!" wrote a grateful shopper. "I foster kittens for a rescue, and no matter how often I clean the boxes...I still have an odor in the room. I got this product out of desperation. It was a good size and weight for kitties bouncing around. I am truly shocked and enormously happy with how it works! My husband...goes in there now and is astonished, no smell. We are getting another for the kitchen! The room is 10×10, and I use it on the 2 setting. I also enjoy the nitelight. Very helpful without disturbing sick sleepy babies recovering from illness."
"I love the child lock," wrote a happy shopper. "My little girl played with it and realize she couldn't do anything then left. My cat isn't afraid of it. So modern looking. Blows cold air. Powerful! Very quiet on low, nice noise blocker at night when on high."
Another cheered: "Works great! My dog farted and the smell disappeared instantly."
“I bought this air purifier before taking on a home remodel/addition project in anticipation of increased dust,” explained one reviewer. “In addition, I have cats and dogs in the house so figured it would be useful in general. After some thorough research on purifiers, I went with Blueair and am happy I did!”
“This thing is easy on the eyes, very straightforward setup, you plug it in, click a button and go on with your day,” raved an Amazon reviewer. “We have this in our bedroom, and within four hours there was a very noticeable difference in air quality.... As you walk from the living room into the bedroom, the odors disappear, it smells clean — almost sterile, and it feels like you’re breathing PURE O2 out of an oxygen tank. We no longer wake up with stuffy noses.”
"Would recommend this to my closest friends and family," writes an adoring fan. "This machine is quiet, works wonderfully, and is by far the most aesthetically pleasing air purifier I've ever seen...In NJ, where I live, this is currently prime allergy season, but when I wake up I feel completely neutral, as if the air outside weren't saturated with pollen (and God knows what else—it's NJ!). It's actually quite amazing."
One five-star reviewer wrote, "Easy to use and convenient for moving around the house or keeping it in the car. Air quality definitely improves and it’s quiet which is always nice. I had a stinky office and this unit cleared the air nicely."

Our top pick for Prime Day:
“I fully believe this year’s Prime Day will once again outdo last year's, and I would legitimately be surprised if Amazon doesn't report record-breaking numbers again,” she told Yahoo Life. “Even with inflation being a concern, there are going to be deals that are too good for shoppers to pass up.” With that good news, let's get shopping!
