It's equipped with five AC outlets and four USB ports, enough for everyone to charge their iPads, iPhones, MacBooks (you get the picture) all at once. Oh, and it's so much sleeker than having a power strip on your floor — and you won't have to worry about tripping over it.

This unrivaled simplicity is one of the reasons I love the X1 so much.
But the secret sauce is really in those selfie acrobatics. Let it take off in follow mode, for example, then turn around and start hiking up that scenic trail or biking that mountain path. It'll stay with you at a set distance, recording sharp 1080p video all the while. Or stay put and let it capture a fly-away or orbit video that shows your surroundings.
You can even shoot a Sorkin-style "walk and talk" video by setting the X1 to fly ahead of or alongside you. The app can record audio and remove the sound of the drone's propellers.
Oh, and when you're done flying, the X1 can fold in half. It can literally fit into a pocket (albeit a somewhat generous one).

Much as I love what the X1 can do, the $429 starting price always struck me as being pretty steep. This is, after all, a small plastic drone, one that has fairly limited storage space.
But $309? That's a lot more palatable. I do recommend splurging on the Combo so you get that extra battery, as each one is good for only about 10 minutes of flight. And the charger is an added convenience, to be sure.
I've packed the X1 on numerous trips and used it to capture some amazing video. It's so easy to use, with zero hassle from start to finish, I just love it.
