I normally steer clear of tank tops — I don't like showing my upper arms much, nor do I love the overly large armholes that seem to haunt every tank I've considered purchasing. Unfortunately, the one thing I hate more than most tank tops is getting overheated, so last summer I invested in a bunch of Amazon Essentials tank tops in hopes that they'd serve me well at the gym or thrown on over a bathing suit with some shorts. What I got instead was a top I wore weekly for nearly a year straight — and now I'm about to buy one in every color.

The Amazon Essentials Tech Stretch Tank is hands down the only tank I've ever worn this frequently. For starters, it has wide straps that don't dig into your shoulders. It also boasts roomy armholes that won't constrict your movement, but they're not oversize (read: no bra peeking through). It has a high neck and full back coverage, with a small slit at the hem. Don't worry: As long as you wear something high-waisted on the bottom, it won't show your lower back.
The fit is loose without being oversize, but if you want it to be a bit more fitted, size down. It's very stretchy thanks to elastane in its fabric composition, so it's a great workout or lounge top (but it works for just about whatever your day throws at you, too). It makes for a great base layer, and it's practically impossible to wrinkle. I've had it scrunched up in suitcases and drawers, and it's looked pristine every time I've thrown it on.
I'm not the tank's only fan, either: Gym-goers in particular are obsessed with it. Shares one:
