According to Facebook, women are using this 'magical' eye cream instead of botox

Here's a pro tip from a professional shopper and lover of all things beauty (that'd be me — hi!): If you haven't been trolling your local Facebook groups — or social media in general — for advice about the best beauty products, it's time you start. Why? Because you'll find an endless stream of real women (not bots) waxing wise on which products are worth buying and which aren't. I've found it especially informative about products designed to treat aging skin — for example, Sunday Riley Auto Correct Eye Cream.

After someone put a call out in one of my (very) trustworthy beauty-focused Facebook groups for eye creams to use instead of botox, dozens of women over the age of 50 suggested Sunday Riley. Psst: Yahoo's beauty editor Jennifer Romolini also named it the best overall eye cream.

According to the brand, just apply one or two pumps morning and night by tapping the skin around your eye area with your ring and middle fingers.

$65 at Amazon

Okay, let's address the elephant in the room: Sunday Riley eye cream is not cheap. Although eye creams tend to be on the pricey side in general, at $65 for a 0.5-ounce bottle, this is one of the more expensive options out there. But there's a reason why people have decided it's worth it: the formula. This cream is packed with skin-loving ingredients. There's caffeine and ginseng to reduce puffiness and energize your under-eyes, and antioxidant-rich lutein for a bright glow. Meanwhile, concentrated horse chestnut and acmella oleracea extract smoothe the appearance of crow's feet. Finally, good ol' cocoa and shea butter moisturize and plump the skin.

In her review, Romolini called this stuff "magically depuffing," noting that "Sunday Riley's products are almost uniformly best in class" — and that Auto Correct is no exception: "It both brightens dark circles and absorbs quickly, leaving behind a dewy glow I found to be pleasant." She also loved the "silky" texture and found it to be "extremely hydrating."

While it's important to note that no product is a miracle worker and what works for someone else may not work for you, it's not just Romolini and all those Facebookers who are singing its praises. It's garnered thousands upon thousands of raving testimonials at retailers like Amazon, Sephora, and Nordstrom.

"This is by far, my favorite eye cream," declared this five-star Amazon review. "No irritation, and I have sensitive skin. It’s extra rich and creamy and leaves a nice glow."

"I am 43 and have tried many different eye treatments," related another. "I have been using this product for about a month now and I feel like it’s working, I am less puffy and smoother around the crow lines area."

"I’m 60 years old and don’t want to draw attention to my wrinkles but still want to reduce darkness around my eyes without looking like a raccoon," explained this shopper. "This brightener/moisturizer does a great job for me."

"I had horrible dark circles and bags, and this has been a game changer," claimed one 54-year-old Amazon customer. "I have gone through many routines to help with this issue and after 4-5 months never seen a difference until now with one bottle." While a few reviewers were bummed that they couldn't get every drop out of the bottle, that same customer found a solution: "I was able to take the pump piece off and I cut the bag open (yes I did) and used it from the bag. I sealed it from drying in a Glad snack bag. Lasted almost an extra week."
