We’ve yet to find a lawn mower that can make cutting the grass fun, but, at the very least, some models make it easy, fast, and less of a hassle. The trend right now is all about electric lawn mowers—there's no gas required, and they run off of rechargeable batteries. And if you hurry, you can score a bestselling cordless model at Walmart on sale with a discount of more than $100.
The Steelite 13-Inch Cordless Electric Lawn Mower is just $128 at Walmart right now, a 44% discount from its normal $230 price tag. It’s earned nearly 200 five-star ratings, and customers have called it a “small but powerful” mower that’s “easy to use and lightweight” and “an ideal electric lawn mower for small lawns.” Its 13-inch-wide deck puts it firmly on the smallest end of the spectrum, so this is best used for small-to-medium-sized lawns.
Its small size makes this mower less than ideal for multiple acres, but it’s great for small yards and irregularly shaped lawns that benefit from a more nimble mower at the edges. It has a 4500-RPM brushless mower that’s powered by a 21V 4.0Ah battery that lasts for 20-plus minutes on a single charge, but Walmart also sells spares if you want extra run time. It has five height positions, from 0.98 to 2.56 inches, comes with a removable 8-gallon grass bag, and makes just 90 dB of noise when operating, roughly the same as a hair dryer.
One customer “wasn’t sure about it at first, but we quickly found out just how functional this powerful mower is. They added that it “cuts like butter, and is quiet and eco-friendly.” And while an extra battery is a good idea for longer mows, overall this mower is a “great investment: Low cost and worth every penny.”
Another reviewer wrote that this mower is “small but mighty.” Their “yard is about average, and it was able to do it all with only one charge,” though, again, if you have more area to mow, a second battery is a good idea.
