It’s no secret that we love the Amazon coat (aka the Orolay Thickened Down Jacket). And in the grand scheme of winter coat prices, $150 is not at the highest end of the spectrum. However, we’re always on the lookout for even better deals. Well, we found one in the Jason Maxwell Side Zip Puffer Coat. It's available now for a steal, on sale for just $35 at Walmart! It looks exactly like the Oprah-loved Amazon classic, but you can get the look for a wild $115 less.
This warm puffer has the same sherpa-lined hood, oversized front-pockets and zipper detailing that made the Amazon coat the viral sensation it is. It also features a similar closure with both a main zipper and snaps alongside it, allowing you to stay fully protected from the weather even in the chilliest temperatures. It looks much more expensive than it is, too.
One noteworthy difference is in the silhouette. The Jason Maxwell coat is a bit more sleek and less bulky, so the fit is more flattering than the rounded shape of our original favorite. There are some other slight variations in the design, but they're hardly noticeable even when you're comparing the two at the same time. (And we are! See below.)
Even with the slimmer, less puffy shape, it's built to successfully keep you warm in the winter cold. "It isn't too thick so I can still move around, but is very warm," one five-star reviewer shared. "We got 15 inches of snow yesterday and I spent over an hour outside plowing snow and it kept me warm and dry."
